PowerCoil wire thread inserts are installed into oversize tapped holes. Only PowerCoil STI (Screw Thread Insert) Taps are suitable for use with PowerCoil Wire Thread Inserts. STI Taps have a larger diameter, than standard taps, but the same pitch to accommodate the wire thread insert. Once the insert is installed in the tapped hole it creates the desired
