Early 20th Century Bronze Turtle Cuspidor NOLA 25" dia and 16" Hc. 1900s 1910s Mechanical painted bronze spittoon or cuspidor. This antique terrapin inspired piece features a detailed representation of the amphibian with slightly exaggerated features. The shell lifts up to reveal the small vessel for catching chewed tobacco, and is opened by pressing on the turtle's head. Exhibits minor signs of wear consistent with age including a slight patina in the recesses of the shell in addition to paint loss and rust on
